Last week the Today Show reported that the word “time” is the most commonly used noun in the English language.

This is not a surprise. Everyone is obsessed with time! There is not enough of it; things take too much of it; and it is one commodity we cannot replace.

I want to share 10 Timely Tips:

1.       Prioritize the three most important activities to accomplish in a day

v      Don’t major in the minors

v      Focus on what is important, not just urgent

2.       Decide what you can give up in order to get what you want

v      Be clear about what you are borrowing from area of your life to pay for another

v      Learn to say no

3.       Eliminate Tolerations

v      Clean up the things that drain your energy and time

v      Simplify your environment

4.       Start a project and work in 15 minute increments

v      This will get you into action

v      Choose to work longer if you like

5.       Touch paper/letter/memo once

v      Decide what to do with it immediately

v      File, distribute, toss or take action later

6.       Delete/Delay/Delegate

v      Choose what action needs to be taken

v      Be proactive about your schedule

7.       Use waiting time wisely

v      Carry small projects with you

v      Make phone calls, send notes, read articles or relax

8.       Group tasks together

v      Make phone calls or send emails at once

v      You’ll be more effective and focused

9.       Take care of yourself

v      Get enough sleep, eat well, exercise

v      Schedule quiet time each day

10.   Be present

v      Focus increases your productivity and fulfillment

v      You’ll have less worry and stress
