I recently went to an art exhibit on Impressionism. As we know, their technique using brush strokes and color in various lights distinguished these artists from others.

They painted subjects and implemented color and lighting in ways never seen before. They painted a variety of everyday scenes from churches, poplar trees, haystacks, waterlillies and ballet dancers. This concept was new and even shocking.

Our attitude is similar to their palette; both possess the ability to paint a picture of everyday life. Our attitude is the mind’s paintbrush. It can color any situation.

We can choose a positive, powerful and optimistic perspective or a darker view filled with negativity, fear and hopelessness. We have the ability to choose the color for our story.

Like the Impressionists who painted in various shades of light, our attitude determines how much light we apply to a situation.
