Recently, Ed Roberts died on April 2nd. You may be wondering, “Who is this guy and why do I care?” He was an engineer who liked to tinker.

Mr. Roberts wanted people to be able to own and afford their own computer, without it taking up a whole room. He created a build-it-yourself computer kit for $439.00. This kit was what Bill Gates used to start Microsoft and create a revolution.

Often we only hear about the people out in front. We see their accomplishments and are unaware of those who stand in the background.

Who is behind you that needs acknowledgement or credit? Brian Billick, former Baltimore Ravens coach, would ask the game’s MVP who was most responsible for supporting him. Billick would give the game ball to that person, behind the visible MVP.

We praise and glorify our visionary entrepreneurs and leaders. Let us also remember to acknowledge the people behind them who make things possible.
