Joy, pride, artistry. These are the words that came to mind watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics.

From the parade of athletes to the precision of the dancers and the lighting of the torch, coordination, creativity and focus were evident. The event was spectacular!

One dance stood out to me as a depiction of leadership. One person was carried by hundreds of others underneath. She was the main one to be seen although the others supported her.

In leadership we may be the one who is more visible or elevated because of our title. Yet we need a team to carry out our vision and support us.

Like the Olympic athletes, many compete in their event alone. However, there is an entire team of trainers, nutritionists, friends and family behind them.

As the ceremony showed, it takes many people to carry out one person’s idea. It is possible to coordinate thousands of people to create an amazing vision!
