Last week I attended an exciting auction where everything from fine furniture and silver to lunch boxes and empty Barbie cases were for sale. The pace was fast and I had to listen closely to keep up with the bidding.

I was fully engaged in the moment as there was no room to let my mind wander. I had to be focused and present; otherwise I’d miss the item.

When we are fully present there is no room to worry about the email to send or the pending to do list. We give someone or something our full attention. Overwhelm does not live in the now.

It is a gift to ourselves and another when we are fully engaged in the moment. Time expands and stress disappears. Unless, of course, you’re trying to decide whether or not to bid higher!
