I recently visited a 6th grade science classroom. The teacher was teaching curiosity, problem solving and thinking.

Questions were posted on all four walls of the room. I thought how effective it could be if we put these in our conference rooms as a reminder for engaging in open and thought provoking communication.

What would happen if you tried these questions in your next meeting or conversation?

  • “What would result if?”
  • “What conclusions can you draw?”
  • “How would you prioritize?”
  • “What’s interesting about this concept?”

Coming from curiosity is a powerful, non-threatening way to engage others, increase understanding and develop better solutions.

Getting back to the ABC(uriosity)’s is a good place to start!
