Phil Mickelson won the Open Championship with a birdie putt. The only thing that my golf game has in common with his is that we both were trained at the Dave Pelz short game school of golf. His results are a bit more impressive!

A key strategy that the school emphasizes is to end your swing with “a world class finish.”

This means to:

  1. Turn your body to the target
  2. Follow through fully
  3. Finish with your arms and club extended

This movement makes a huge difference in the distance the ball travels.

World class finish is a concept we can apply to our work. Sometimes we start a project and neglect to follow through fully.

At other times we fail to turn our attention to the target or the actions that result in an outcome, instead staying busy on activities that might deliver the result. Our inability to prioritize actions with the desired end means our outcomes are less effective and less strong.

Having a world class finish supports your game both on and off the course and allows you to get the best possible results.
