Recently I purchased some pens for gifts. They were beautifully wrapped. The color of the ribbon and the gift card matched the color of the pen. The special packaging made it a gift you were excited to open.

However, sometimes we get presents that do not look pretty. They are messy (like the dust clouds that followed Peanuts cartoon character, Pig Pen, everywhere he went). They do not have coordinating colors, matching pieces or a pretty bow tying them together.

Nonetheless, these packages can truly be gifts. We may have to look from a different perspective or be open to letting go of current beliefs or circumstances.

Remember, gifts are given to us daily. Fancy wrapping is not always required.
