Last weekend when I was at a hotel I overheard the Australian receptionist at the front desk say to the guest, “I’ll get a bellman to follow you- not stalkerish.”

We all laughed at her desire to be explicit. It was clear she did not want to be misunderstood.

When we communicate it is our role to make sure our messages are clear. It is our responsibility to check out the interpretation with the receiver. By doing so, miscommunication becomes minimal.
