Red Sox fans had a lot to cheer about seeing their team go from worst to first place in a year.

What can we learn from their experience?

  1. Getting the right players is essential to create a winning organization.
  2. Developing camaraderie is an important factor we sometimes overlook. The players grew beards to generate a spirit of team. They would tug their beards when a good play happened rather than hi fiveing or fist bumping. They created a bond and a culture unique to their team.
  3. Having a purpose that is big will call you forth powerfully. After the Boston bombing in April, the team had a greater purpose to reenergize the spirit and strength of a city. Winning took on a bigger meaning.

Remembering these three basics will help elevate your team to a championship level!
