What possesses someone to get up at 5:30am on a Sunday to stand in a two block line waiting to go to the grocery?

A 7am grand opening of Wegmans, a specialty grocery store stocking over 60,000 products, created such excitement in Baltimore.

Both employees and customers were buzzing with enthusiasm. The store is known for its product variety- 700 varieties of produce, 450 different cheeses and 60 kinds of olives. Their customer service is renowned. They open additional check outs if more than two customers are in line.

What would it take for people to line up at the crack of dawn to do business with you? Do you offer product variety or do you specialize, being known as an expert? How do you welcome your customers and clients and keep them coming back? What differentiates you?

Even the simple act of making follow up phone calls after you’ve delivered a service can make you stand out.

Creating a wonderful work environment for your employees will generate enthusiasm which will transfer to your customers.

What do you do to stand out so people will stand in line for you?

Please send me your ideas and I’ll share the responses.
