Last week’s killing of Osama Bin Laden was a milestone on the war on terror. It truly was a well-orchestrated team effort on the parts of many individuals and departments over time.

Regardless of your politics, the President showed strong leadership in choosing this course of action. Although he was given and welcomed different perspectives and opinions, (a 55/45{160c7819af59c11da6532971d4da6329afa70521e09652cedd42dbad61fa4f29} chance Bin Laden was there) ultimately the decision to act was his.

Leadership takes courage, commitment, belief and confidence in your team, intense preparation and a willingness to take risk. Everyone may not agree with the decision. As a leader you must be willing to be ultimately accountable.

  1. Where would you like to be bolder?
  2. What do you need to take action?
  3. What are the risks and rewards?

Last week’s events embody leadership in action.
