Like most Americans I was glad that the election was over last week. Living in Ohio, I was particularly happy to see an end to political commercials.

People had many perspectives and their voices were heard prior to and on Election Day. Now that the decision has been made it is time to align and move forward together.

In our organization, like in our country, it is important to make sure all the voices in the system are heard. A decision may not reflect the perspective you had and the results you desired. That said, once made, aligning together and not being an obstacle to action are essential to success.

Once made, it is also important for team members to support the decision outside the group. This concept is called “Team Together/Team Apart.”

  1. How can you ensure that all the voices in your organization are heard?
  2. How can you create alignment when decisions are made so that your organization runs effectively?

Two-way communication, respect, listening and constructive interaction are necessary elements to the process.

Regardless of the various perspectives voiced inside, “Team Together/Team Apart” makes for a winning campaign.
