I have been taking Barre exercise classes. The moves are tiny, isometric movements designed to stretch and tone your body. You don’t use heavy weights or big sweeping moves, Yet when done properly, the results are great.

This exercise concept works well when we are pursing a goal or making a change. Taking small incremental steps and stretching will move us forward.

So often we believe we have to make a 180 degree turn. We think in all or nothing terms. We have to take big leaps to move toward our goal.

That reasoning can actually prevent us from taking action. It can paralyze and overwhelm us.

We can take incremental steps. Often we forget this because we don’t see progress fast enough.

As my Barre class is reminding me, repeating small moves can lead to big progress. They can be powerful and generate results.
