Good sportsmanship- It is something we are all taught in kindergarten.

Watching Wimbledon yesterday reminded me of that lesson. Both Federer and Nadal played like champions. They are competitors who wanted to win. Each believed in himself and had a positive attitude, even when he was behind.

Both men were gracious at the trophy ceremony. They showed respect and acknowledged the other’s talent. In a rare occurrence, Federer, the runner-up and five-time reigning champion, took a well deserved lap around the court.

We can all learn a lesson about grace, respect and dignity when things do not go our way. Modeling these qualities is the sign of a true leader and a real winner.
